Austin Bail Bonds and Jail Release

Jail Release in Austin

Bond Release ▪ Personal Bonds ▪ Surety Bonds ▪ Attorney Bonds

We offer jail release services to people in Travis County and the surrounding areas. That means that you can call on us 24 hours a day, seven days a week to seek to get you out of jail on bond.

As knowledgeable criminal defense lawyers, we believe that the sooner our clients get out of jail, the better off they will be. People who are in jail are more likely to cut deals with the prosecution to get out of jail, at least temporarily. These deals are generally not in their best interest, especially if there is no defense lawyer present.

Our practice centers in Travis County. Travis County has a pre-trial services office where it prepares bonds for most jailed individuals. If that person does not receive a personal bond by recommendation then that person has several options. They can post a surety bond or they can hire an attorney to aid in the release process.

Our law office can exercise options for people who have been charged with a misdemeanor and some felonies without resorting to a bonding company:

  • We can take the bonding packet prepared by pretrial services to the magistrate on duty.
  • We can post an attorney bond. In Travis County, that involves an attorney applying to the Travis County Sheriff’s Department for review and approval based on the attorney’s status with the Texas Bar Association, financial situation and supporting documents.
  • We can work closely with a Travis County Bonding Company to help aid clients release on bond pending trial.

In addition to writing attorney bonds in Travis County, our attorney bonds in Hays, Caldwell, Dewitt, Karnes, Bastrop, and Williamson counties.

All calls outside of business hours are forwarded via text message to our cell phones. We immediately call new clients back and help aid them in jail release and advise them on representation.

The Bail Process

When someone has been arrested for a crime, they start their journey through the legal system and bail is one of the most important and somewhat misunderstood aspects of that process.

Bail is essentially a promise that in exchange for a fee, you will be released and agree to appear future court proceedings. The history of the bail process dates back to the early days of the United States where bail eligible crimes were defined by the Judiciary Act. Some crimes are not bail-eligible or if a person has a history of offenses and is seen as a danger to the community, their bail could be denied.

If you fail to appear at a court date, you are seen as “jumping bail” and a warrant for your arrest is usually issued and you might even find yourself of a show like Dog the Bounty Hunter.
